Blast furnace gas engine

The world’s largest blast furnace gas engine.
It is located in Differdange, southwest of Luxembourg City, in a former steel production plant. It is 26 meters long, 10.5 meters wide, and 6.5 meters high, weighing 1,100 tons, and capable of producing 11,000 horsepower or up to 7,000 kilowatts.
The project involves a vast database. The object and scene content were scanned using two types of 3D scanners: a portable scanner and a long-range laser scanner. The obtained scanned data of objects and people constituted a massive array of raw information.
One of the most significant challenges of the project was processing this data and creating a comprehensive scene that would be of sufficient quality and optimized for presentation and publication.
