A historical landmark of Palo Alto, CA, this tower well valve was made in the early 1900s and was considered the latest in modern technology.
The valve model was scanned using a handheld 3D scanner, resulting in two distinct outcomes with some defects in different parts of the model. The objective was to achieve a clean mesh from the scan data, addressing any defects that might arise during the registration and transformation process when converting the 3D scanner data into a polygonal mesh during data processing.
